Hanson Fine Building and Preservation

Hanson Fine Building specializes in fine renovations, custom additions, sustainable new construction, and historic preservation for older homes and historic structures in Greater Philadelphia. Established in 1986, Hanson Fine Building manages all phases of construction, including demolition, concrete and masonry, mechanical systems, and framing and finish carpentry.

Our team of construction project managers has deep, long-term relationships with established subcontractors in all building trades, including specialty woodworkers and artisans capable of executing demanding finish details. We approach each job with clear communication, effective problem-solving, and sensitivity to the building’s existing and historic characteristics. We make personalized service and customer satisfaction our very highest priorities.

The Hanson portfolio includes projects recognized for craftsmanship and preservation quality with awards from the American Institute of Architects, Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia, Preservation Pennsylvania, Residential Architect magazine, Remodeling magazine, Docomomo-US, HOUZZ, and Urban Land Institute of Philadelphia.

We have worked on several of the area’s significant landmarks, including Andalusia, the country estate of Nicholas Biddle; Beth Sholom Synagogue in Elkins Park, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright; several houses of Boat House Row; historic Fort Mifflin; historic Bartram’s Garden; and the Athenaeum of Philadelphia.
