The Preservation Alliance’s annual Architectural Dinner takes us to the recently redeveloped power plant formerly known as the Delaware Generating Station, now reborn as “The Battery.” Located next to Penn Treaty Park on the Fishtown waterfront, the extensive property is being reimagined and transformed by Lubert-Adler and the Cescaphe Group as a waterfront destination with residences, workspaces, boutique short-term stays, and sweeping event spaces.

Tom Caramanico will be honored as the recipient of the 2023 Mary Werner DeNadai Award – presented to a civic leader who has made a lasting impact in historic preservation.

Tom Caramanico is the volunteer executive director of Independence Historical Trust, a man who has raised millions of dollars for the preservation of Independence Historical Park in the past few years and who, most notably, raised over thirty million dollars for the restoration of the First Bank of the United States. Tom served as president of McCormick Taylor Inc. from 1998 through 2013. Outside of his career, his life has been dedicated to igniting change in the world through his philanthropy.
